It started with All Grain Home Brew Supplies in Lower Hutt and a great beer at a party that turned out to be home brew. Obviously, it needed to be taken to a wider audience, so Te Aro moved the shop to larger premises and started building a brewery out the back. While it would be nice to say the rest was history, that history is still being written.
Today Te Aro Brewing is based in Wellington’s Courtenay Quarter, the hub of the city’s entertainment and nightlife district and have a rapidly growing list of bars and restaurants stocking our beer, along with a seemingly insatiable demand from a discerning drinking public.
