Sunshine Brewery was founded in Gisborne in 1989 by a couple of surfers passionate about crisp waves and refreshing beers.
After multiple award-winning brews and unrivalled success on the East Coast for the better part of two decades the brewery is now enjoying new investment from a group of local wine folk and has begun exporting Gisborne’s best kept secret. The renewed interest has seen a new purpose built brewery and taproom open down by the beach and a new brewer join the ranks to produce some exciting new beers more in tune with New Zealand's rapidly developing palate for craft beer.
However, Sunshine continues to embody the same ethos of its founders; surfing and capturing the unique Gisborne way of life for all to enjoy.
